There’s no better place for a New Mexico wine festival than this old Spanish hacienda named El Rancho de las Golondrinas (Ranch of the Swallows). It was founded in the early 1700s and was an historic paraje, or stopping place, on El Camino Real, the Royal Road to Mexico City. The ranch was an oasis of water and tall grass, a one-day journey to Santa Fe.
